The then 5-8 Bengals traveled down to Music City in hopes to hang onto their sliver as playoff hopes. At this point for the Bengals, every game is a must win, no team can be overlooked... even the lowly Tennessee Titans.

About halfway through the first quarter, down 7, Joe Burrow had the Bengals offense driving down the field knocking on the door of the end zone looking to put up their first score of the game. 1st and goal from about the 7, Burrow takes the snap. With the condensed field, Burrow couldn’t find anyone open so scrambles around to buy himself more time. Burrow must’ve seen Devin Cochran serving up pancakes from his peripheral. Burrow drifts back into the pocket, buying himself just enough time for Chase Brown to get open, and complete their first touchdown of the game. Burrow’s 14th touchdown pass in his last 5 games.

Cochran didn’t just serve up pancakes on this play. Cochran served pancakes, read the defender his Miranda rights, took him downtown, booked him, finger printed him, locked him up, and tossed away the keys. A lot of odd similarities between this defender and Luigi Mangione.

Devin Cochran’s story is a great one. Cochran spent his first 3 years of college ball with the Vanderbilt Commodores, finally capping off his college career at Georgia Tech in 2021 where he earned All ACC honors as a left tackle. Cochran was undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, ultimately signing with the Bengals to the practice squad. Cochran spent his entire 2023 season on IR with a knee injury. Cochran is finally getting his burn, and what a way to make a statement. With the Bengals’ back against the wall, they need to be firing on all cylinders. When the left tackle is dominating like Cochran is, the anchor is set to continue their playoff push.

Eat up the tall stack, Cochran! Good luck the rest of the way.
