MNF: The Battle at Mexico City

Best Picks: 49ers -10

Fun fact for you all. Four of the last six teams to play a regular season game in Mexico City have reached the playoffs. The two most recent winners (Chiefs in 2019 & Pats in 2017) both went on to the Super Bowl in their respective seasons.

McCaffery and the high powered 49ers offense look to continue their win streak against NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals.

Let me say something nice about the Cardinals. They are a respectable team this season. Especially against the run where the Cardinals rank 11th in yards allowed per game. On that same note, Arizona is giving up 1.2 rushing TDs per game (tied with Carolina, Miami, Seattle, and Minnesota). Unfortunately for Cardinal fans, the fact of the matter is, if Kyle Shanahan wants to run the ball, he will get it done. The Cardinals passing defense is shaky at their best. Luckily for them, they get to face off against Jimmy G.

The 49ers have a much more complete team than the Cardinals, and at this point in the season, much more available. Hopkins and Murray both come into the matchup as questionable, while Byron Murphy and Zach Ertz are both ruled out.

The 49ers are going to give the Cardinals major problems all night both offensively and defensively. San Fran has the 4th highest amount of sacks this season, and they haven’t taken their foot off that pedal. Either Murray or McCoy will have a tough night in the pocket tonight. San Fran has the leagues 2nd best rush defense allowing 82.7 rushing yards per game. These stats together combine for a lot of 3 & outs, a lot of 50/50 balls, and a lot of fits for the Cardinals offense. My sources at BetMGM are telling me that if Kyler Murray plays tonight, the over/under on screaming matches between himself and another player on his team/coach will be set at 3.5 screaming matches. Hammer the over.

49ers come into this matchup winning their last 2 after losing their previous 2 to Atlanta, and Kansas City. The 9ers are alive and well in the playoff hunt. Look for them to come out firing on all cylinders tonight. Not only to keep their playoff hopes alive, but to even up their record with the division leading Seattle Seahawks.
