MNF: Steelers @ Colts

Best Pick: Steelers +2.5

Under Jeff Saturday, the Colts have seem to have gotten a jump start. Saturday immediately put a stop to the Sam Ehlinger project, and started placating to the teams strength which is Jonathan Taylor. The Steelers have been a shell of the Steelers of the past, but at the end of the day when T.J. Watt is on the field for the Steelers, they’re a different team.

T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers look to go into Lucas Oil Stadium and upset the Indianapolis Colts

As of late, the Colts have been playing well. The Colts beat the Raiders on Saturday’s debut, then continued on to fall in a dog fight against the Eagles. In that dog fight, the Colts opened up the game with a TD drive, but was unable to find the endzone through the remainder of the game. Eagles’ defense is one of the best in the league, and a T.J. Watt led Pittsburgh Steeler’s defense is right up there with the them. The Steeler’s offense is brutal. Against a tough Colts defense, the Steelers need to make some magic happen on defense in order to win the game. If we see a defensive TD by the Steelers, we will see a Steelers win. The Steelers offense has tough sledding ahead of them, but if they can find the soft spots in the Colts defense tonight will be an easy Steelers cover. Kenny Pickett will be spreading it out to Pat Freiermuth and George Pickens trying to open some space for Najee Harris.

The Colts are well rounded on offense. Before Matt Ryan was benched, he was top 5 in passing yards. Jonathan Taylor has the ability to score from anywhere on the field, especially behind the nasty offensive line. The Steelers should be able to manage Jonathan Taylor’s yardage, but if Taylor gets going on the ground the play action could be the deciding factor of the game. Michael Pittman Jr. and Parris Campbell could be on the receiving end of some deep bombs by Matt Ryan if the play action gets going. The Colts defense is mean, and will be looking to get after Kenny Pickett.

The over/under for this game is set to 39.5, which tells us that Vegas sees a low scoring game. In a low scoring game, taking the points could be the difference. Take the 2.5, and put up the Steel Curtain.
