Atlanta is an extremely run heavy team with their bell cow RB, Cordarrelle Patterson, coming into this matchup fresh off a 2 TD performance. On the flipside, Atlanta has a poor rushing defense. Panthers are going into this game with the QB position in the air; When you have 2 QBs, you have none.

Atlanta Falcons have proved time and time again that they’re setting out to run the football. Flacons RB core took a shot for a few weeks with Patterson out, but Patterson came back last week and looked to be right in mid season form.

The last time these two teams matched up, PJ Walker made magic happen with a last second TD bomb to DJ Moore to punch the game into overtime. PJ Walker was announced as the starter this Thursday night but don’t be surprised if we’re watching Baker Mayfield by halftime.

Watch for Carolina’s rush defense to continue to struggle against top tier RBs. Last week was an embarrassment for the Panthers rushing defense, don’t expect them to flip the script on a short week. Especially against a fresh Cordarrelle Patterson. Not to mention Mariota and Allgeier have been handling the rushing load pretty well in Patterson’s absence.
