Alright ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to 6th Man Saturdays. Every Saturday I’ll be your 6th Man helping you make picks for the day including side, totals, and some props. I’m your betting Lou Williams.
Don’t beat me up if the stats aren’t exactly on point, I gather the information Monday-Friday. My records and average may be slightly skewed by the time this is published.
Washington Wizards +2
The Wizards are coming into this matchup with a 6 game win streak, while also covering their last 6. 7-3 ATS in their last 10. Washington had a few days break and come back with a home game against Portland. That game on Friday should knock off any rust, and Washington will be heading up to Brooklyn ready to rock. It also helps that TJ Warren and Ben Simmons is out.
Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5
OKC comes into this game with a 2 game losing streak straight up, and ATS, while Houston is 2-0 in their last 2 straight up and ATS. What I love about this matchup is that OKC is 31-19-1 ATS compared to Houston’s record of 20-29-2. A deeper dive shows that OKC is good against the spread at home, 16-10 compared to Houston’s road record of 9-17 ATS. OKC is doing a bit better than Houston in their last 10. I’m willing to go against the small 2 game streaks I mentioned at the beginning of this blurb, because when we look at these 2 teams with a wider lens, OKC is better ATS than Houston.
Under 233.5 Portland Trailblazers & Chicago Bulls
The under for this matchup is just too sweet to pass up. Chicago has played 25 games at home, 15 of which went under. Portland has played 26 games on the road, 18 of which have went under. Dame has been going off in his last 5, scoring at least 37 in each of his last 5 games, but taking a big picture look, he typically has a sharp decline in points on the road vs. at home.
Milwaukee Bucks -6
The Bucks are on a 6 game winning streak, last 4 of those being at home. The Bucks are only 3-3 ATS in those 6 games. Already in this season, Miami beat the Bucks twice straight up, and Miami went 1-0-1 ATS in those 2 games. I’m going with the Bucks here to ride out their at home winning streak. Plus, the Bucks defense has the ability to lock down any team any night. I’ll sleep well at night knowing my money is on Milwaukee’s side.
Over 233.5 Atlanta Hawks & Denver Nuggets
We have a huge over for the night cap. Lets go! Atlanta has been crushing overs this season. What I love about this matchup is that Atlanta is on a 4 game over streak(over has hit 8 of their last 9 games), Denver is on a 3 game over streak. Atlanta’s injury report is blank. Denver doesn’t have any major injuries. We should be at full strength, and the points will be high in Denver.
