The Masters.

The 2023 Masters Championship is set to tee off this Thursday April 6th.

We have some bets to watch out for at the bottom of this blog, but first I would like to talk about the Masters, ESPECIALLY this one. Seriously, pick your story line, there’s a million of them to go around.

Will Scottie Schefter be the first player to win back to back Masters since Tiger did it in ‘01 & ‘02?

Jon Rahm has taken some time off, will he get back to the dominant performances he has earlier this season?

Tiger looked okay walking 4 days at the Genesis Open. Being as he’s healthier, will he have a better outing this year than last?

LIV Golfers are back in the field. Earlier today, LIV Nation took a shot at Rory.

I'm most excited about the bigger picture. The Masters is a major major deal, don’t get me wrong. But every tournament, I check the Fed Ex cup standings first. I’m hoping that Rahm comes back and plays out of his mind good, Scottie is out there looking like he’s about to repeat, and Homa just refuses to go away. If we enter into Sunday with these 3 on top of the leaderboard within a few strokes of each other, the ending will be bonkers. God, get me a pimento cheese sandwich STAT!

I am so ready to sit down in front of the TV Saturday and Sunday morning watching the lush Augusta National course, the azaleas, listening to the birds chirping, and watching an absolute killer of a Masters.

Alright let’s talk money.

The first bet that caught my eye was any LIV Tour player to win the tournament at +500. Good odds, great players. Sergio Garcia, DJ, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Schwartzel, and Bubba have all won at Augusta National before. Brooks has been on a heater in the LIV circuit, maybe he can bring it to the Masters.

As for the Masters outright winner, we’re going with Justin Thomas +2200. Our advanced analytics say that he’s awesome out of the tee box and he can be really good on and around the greens so take him. Plus the value is fantastic.

Seriously though, JT should be able to give himself good looks for eagles/birdies all throughout the course with his monster ability to drive the ball. But what is more important in Augusta is the short game. When JT is on fire, he may be the best golfer in the world. JT and Bones aren’t new to course, they’ve been here before and will approach this professionally. You can bet your bottom dollar that JT wants this win more than anybody in the field. JT has been a vocal advocate of the PGA ever since the LIV split. Although Rory is seen as the leader on the PGA side, JT knows what a win this weekend will mean for him and the rest of the PGA players.
